Nokia took the market by a
pleasant surprise when the company announced the revival of its iconic Nokia
3310 device at MWC, 2017. Russian premium handset brand Caviar has paid tribute
to Russian politician Vladimir Putin by launching a new version of the Nokia
3310 device with the president’s picture integrated in Gold at the back of the
device.
The new ‘Vladimir Putin’ avatar that the
Nokia 3310 dons is dubbed as the Nokia 3310 Supremo Putin and comes at a price
of RUB 99,000 (approximately Rs 1,13,500). The device’s central home button is
decorated with a miniature image of coat of arms of the Russian Federation and
the handset further sports titanium housing along with a gold finish.
The
relaunched Nokia 3310 – based on the early 2000s phone of the same name – was announced
on February 26, 2017 at Mobile World Congress. It’s built by a Finnish company
called HMD Global, which is paying Nokia a fee to use the brand name on the
handset. The phone has basic features like a web browser, voice recorder, and
an FM radio, 2.4-inch QVGA display,
2MP rear camera, 16GB internal storage and 1200mAh battery that offers 22 hours
of talktime and one month’s standby time.
